About Fernbridge

A calmer place to begin again.

Fernbridge Counselling Rooms opened its doors in Hereford with a simple belief: good therapy should feel human, unhurried and completely without judgement. Today our small team supports hundreds of clients a year, in person and online.

Therapy that treats you as a person first, and a “case” never.

We started Fernbridge because we’d seen too many people bounce off cold, clinical services — long waiting lists, ten-minute appointments, a new face every visit. We wanted to build the opposite: a warm, steady practice where you see the same counsellor every week, in a room that feels more like a sitting room than a surgery.

Every therapist here is licensed, supervised and experienced — but more than that, every therapist here genuinely loves this work. We hold professional accreditation, follow strict ethical codes, and keep learning: trauma-informed care, EMDR, emotionally focused therapy and more.

What we stand for

The values behind every session.

Warmth without judgement

Bring the messy, unfinished version. You’ll be met with curiosity and care — neverlabels, never lectures.

Time, taken properly

Full 50-minute sessions, the same counsellor each week, and room to go at your pace. Healing can’t be rushed.

Evidence, not guesswork

CBT, EMDR and emotionally focused methods with real research behind them — explained in plain English.

Our founder

“I founded Fernbridge so nobody in this town would have to carry a heavy mind alone.”

Clara Bennett spent a decade in NHS mental-health services before opening Fernbridge Counselling Rooms. She leads our team, still carries her own small caseload, and personally matches every new client with the right therapist.
